Sometimes I wish words could dance
So that when I expressed my love for you
Those eight letters would prance off of my lips
Onto a stage underneath a disco ball,
Dressed in sequin unitards, glitter eye shadow, and 6-inch heeled tap shoes,
Perform a number worthy of its own show on Broadway,
Then bow as tears of joy glide down the sides of your face

It sounds over the top but
When it comes to my love for you I
Don’t feel as if saying it does it justice and
Sometimes showing it becomes repetitive so
I came up with this weird idea of dancing words.
In my defense it sounded better in my head
One of those things better left unsaid
I just want you to know how I feel. Except,
If words weren’t used so much in vain
Elated and overjoyed wouldn’t sound so cliché
And simply saying “I love you” would mean just that.

SO this is the second song I’ve heard from Pat Bowie. I’m definitely almost 50 years late but hey, good music is timeless!
